BACOLOD CITY — The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region arrested two most wanted persons in the region on Nov. 19 and 20.
In Negros Occidental, a 36-year-old farm caretaker tagged as the region’s top 1 most wanted person was apprehended in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City, on Thursday.
The accused, identified as alias “BoyBoy” of the same village, was arrested for act of lasciviousness in relation to Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
A report from the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region stated that the suspect allegedly dragged a minor into a sugarcane plantation, where he reportedly committed the offense, and threatened to kill her if she reported the incident.
In Negros Oriental, a 38-year-old man was arrested in Barangay Banga, Bayawan City, on Wednesday for qualified rape of a minor.
Police said the suspect allegedly raped his stepdaughter in their house and was classified as the top 3 most wanted person in the region.
Upon the service of the warrant, the accused was already detained for the previous crime of rape through sexual assault.
The regional office said it remains steadfast in its fight against crime, demonstrating that no fugitive can evade the long arm of the law.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region said it continues to act with unwavering determination, leaving no room for criminals to hide or evade justice.
“This accomplishment reflects not only the skill and dedication of the police operatives but also the resolve of PRO-NIR to ensure that those who threaten peace and security are held accountable,” it stated.
