Two persons were wounded in separate stabbing incidents in Iloilo province evening of April 2, 2022.
What was common in both knife attacks is that they happened amid liquor drinking sessions.
The two victims, Francisco Cabayao and Salvador Mamon, were also both stabbed by their drinking buddies.
Police accounts claimed that Cabayao, 37, and his neighbor, Roger Celeste, 50, were both drunk when the incident happened 7 p.m. Saturday at Barangay Tabucan, Calinog.
A heated argument ensued between the duo until Cabayao slapped Celeste.
This prompted Celeste to draw a knife and stab the victim on the abdomen.
Cabayao was rushed to Calinog District Hospital for treatment while Celeste fled after the incident.
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old Salvador, a resident of Barangay Bulay, Cabatuan, was stabbed 10 p.m. while at a relative’s house in Barangay Gines Patag.
The suspects were identified as his cousin, Aristeo Mamon, 40, and Michael Aguero, both residents of Gines Patag village.
Salvador was drinking with the suspects and two other friends when Mamon told Aguero to stab Salvador.
The victim was wounded on the right side of his abdomen and left wrist. He was taken to Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospotal for treatment.
Aristeo was arrested in a hot pursuit operation while Aguero remains at large as of this writing.
