Two men nabbed over rape raps

Two persons accused of rape are now behind bars after they were arrested in Iloilo province.
Police identified the suspects as Kenneth Gasit, a resident of Barangay Teniente Benito, Tubungan, Iloilo; and Arden Menor, 38, of Barangay Sta. Rita, Maasin, Iloilo.
Gasit was arrested afternoon of October 4 in Teniente Benito village.
Members of the Tubungan Police Station and the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) Visayas Field Unit Iloilo/Bacolod Satellite Office collared Gasit for a rape charge in Criminal Case No. 3627.
Judge Nelita Jesusa Arboleda Bacaling of the Regional Trial Court Branch 72 in Guimbal, Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Sept. 14, 2021. No bail was set for his temporary liberty.
Meanwhile, members of Maasin Police Station and Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) tracker team arrested Menor at Sta. Rita village morning of October 5. The suspect is the town’s number 5 most wanted person,
Menor was accused of rape in Criminal Case Numbers 05-60810 to 05-60811. The arrest warrant was issued on March 31, 2005.
No bail was also recommended for his provisional freedom.
Both suspects are now detained.
