BACOLOD City – Two persons were arrested separately in Silay City, Negros Occidental for possession of illegal drugs and loose firearms last Thursday.
John Anthony Belonio, 30, of Barangay Balaring was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay E. Lopez, around 8:10 p.m.
Police seized from Belonio eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing eight grams worth P54,400, and the P2,600 marked money.
Later that night, Stephen Superal, 42, of Barangay Banago here, was arrested in an entrapment operation in Barangay Rizal around 10:12 p.m.
According to the police, Superal is allegedly involved in gun-running activities in northern Negros, including the cities of Talisay and Silay, and also in its adjacent towns and cities.
Police confiscated from him a .45 caliber pistol without serial number, a magazine assembly, six live ammunition, and P19,950 boodle money.
Both suspects are detained at Silay City Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges.
