BACOLOD City – Two persons are facing drug criminal charges after they were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Purok Boulevard, Barangay 14 here last Tuesday.
Police identified the subject as Eliseo Torabilla, 24; and his friend Oliver Jumayao, 31, both residents of the said village. They are classified as alleged street level individuals.
Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of Police Station 1, said Torabilla was previously jailed for a criminal offense, but was released after the complainant dropped the case.
Police recovered from the two suspects about 10 grams of suspected shabu worth P68,000, the P500 marked money, and drug paraphernalia.
Sarona said that police also confiscated from Torabilla a .38-caliber revolver loaded with six live ammunitions.
Drug charges were already filed against the suspects yesterday, while an additional charge for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition was also filed against Torabilla.
Sarona said that both suspects denied the accusation against them.
“Gin padala lang daw sa ila kag indi daw nila kilala,” the station commander said, quoting the two suspects.
Sarona said they will continue to check the background of the two suspects to determine if they had previous drug-related cases.
