BACOLOD City – Two persons were killed in separate areas here in the past two days.
In Barangay Villamonte, Restimer Senoro, 36, of Barangay Estefania here, was sitting outside a house at Hervias 3, when four unidentified persons arrived and shot him around 9:20 p.m. last Tuesday.
Police Captain Peter John Ramos, head of Police Station 4, said that some witnesses saw four armed persons, who were wearing helmets, fleeing from the scene.
Ramos said that it was not clear why the victim was in the area at that time.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo Bacolod, the victim’s mother alleged that her son was being used as an “intel.” But, Ramos said that such is subject to validation.
Ramos said that he could not confirm such a claim, pending the investigation. But, he said they do not discount the possibility that his death could be drug-related.
Ramos said that the victim was recently reported by an individual for attempting to stab him. He said they would probe if the victim had enemies.
Early the following day, an unidentified man was found wounded beside a sugarcane field at Hacienda Gonzaga, Barangay Mansilingan around 6:30 a.m.
Police Captain Andy Ofalia, head of Police Station 7, said the victim suffered head injuries and was declared dead at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here.
Ofalia said that a person, who happened to pass by the secluded area to bring his carabao to the grasses, discovered the victim.
Police could not ascertain yet if the victim’s injuries could be from a gunshot or from other weapons.
As of this writing, the victim has yet to be identified by the police.
