Two killed after motorcycle hits carabao in Silay

BACOLOD CITY — Two people died after their motorcycle hit a carabao in Barangay Guimbalaon, Silay City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday.

Police identified the victims only as Ed, the motorcycle driver, and his companion, Janjan.

Police Lt. Col. Edison Garcia, chief of the Silay City Police Station, said the victims were heading to the barangay proper when they hit a carabao that suddenly crossed the road.

Both riders fell onto the road and sustained injuries.

Ed was declared dead at a hospital, while Janjan died hours later, according to Garcia.

Garcia said two carabaos at the roadside were fighting when one of them ran onto the road, causing the accident.

He said the carabao’s owner and the families of the two victims were scheduled to meet.
