ROXAS City – Two in-laws were shot dead in a funeral wake Thursday evening at Sitio Martao, Brgy. San Nicolas in Tapaz, Capiz.
The victims were identified as Ronie Apolinario Equipado, and Winnie Galagate Glory, both 40 years old and residents of Sitio Napatuo, San Nicolas.
The suspect was identified as Reygan Galagate, 42, of Brgy. Camburanan also in Tapaz.
Investigation by the Tapaz police indicated that the victims and suspect were playing cara y cruz or tumbo when a commotion erupted due to an alleged misunderstanding.
Galagate suddenly drew his gun and shot the victims.
The two sustained fatal gunshot wounds in the different parts of their bodies. They were declared dead at Tapaz District Hospital.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the police.
Recovered from the crime scene were five empty shells and two live .45-caliber ammunition and P150 cash.
