Two Iloilo most wanted suspects arrested in Mina

ILOILO CITY — Police arrested two men ranked second and third on Iloilo province’s most-wanted list in separate operations Wednesday, Aug. 12, in Mina town.
Police identified the suspects only as “Vince,” 27, and “MakMak,” 26, both residents of Zone 7, Barangay Abangay, Janiuay.
Members of the Mina Municipal Police Station served arrest warrants against the suspects on charges of rape by carnal knowledge.
The Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 68 in Dumangas, Iloilo, issued the warrants and did not recommend bail for either suspect.
Police arrested Vince at 7 p.m. in Barangay Cabalabaguan, Mina.
MakMak was arrested at 8:30 p.m. in Barangay Tumay, Mina.
MakMak ranked second on the province’s most-wanted list, while Vince ranked third.
Police Lt. Redon Octaviano, Mina police chief, said the case stemmed from an alleged incident in Mina and was filed more than a year ago.
The suspects remain in police custody pending their turnover to the court.
The arrests allow the criminal proceedings to continue but do not constitute convictions. Both suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
