Two HVIs arrested in Iloilo City drug bust

ILOILO CITY — Police arrested two individuals classified as high-value targets and seized about 60 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 408,000 during a buy-bust operation in La Paz, Iloilo City, early Friday.

The Police Regional Office 6 said the operation was conducted at about 1:25 a.m. on Sept. 18, 2026, in Zone 4, Barangay Jereos, La Paz.

Police identified the suspects by the aliases “Ageh,” 24, and “Baby Awis,” 26.

Both suspects are single and residents of La Paz, Iloilo City.

Authorities classified both men as high-value individuals, or HVIs, in the government’s anti-illegal drug campaign.

Intelligence operatives of Iloilo City Police Station 2 conducted the buy-bust operation that led to the arrests.

Police recovered one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu that served as the buy-bust item.

Authorities also seized nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and one knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu.

Buy-bust money and other non-drug-related items were also recovered during the operation.

The suspected shabu weighed approximately 60 grams in total and had an estimated Standard Drug Price of PHP 408,000, according to PRO6.

The two suspects are being held at Iloilo City Police Station 2 for documentation and proper disposition.

Police said charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared against them.
