BACOLOD City – Two persons were wounded by a stray bullet in Barangay Bata here yesterday.
Police have yet to release the names of the two victims.
Captain Armilyn Vargas, head of Police Station 3, said that a commotion reportedly occurred at Bangga Sawmill in the village around 4:50 a.m. Tuesday.
An unidentified person was then seen chasing another unidentified person who passed by the Circumferential road to escape from the former.
But the suspect allegedly stopped when he saw a police car from afar.
Since the suspect failed to catch up with his target, Vargas said that he reportedly fired a shot and fled.
“Nabalahuba na kay may nag hambal na may napilasan na,” she added.
Vargas said one of the victims was sitting on a tricycle, while the other was standing outside a Church.
The two victims suffered injuries on their hands and were taken to a hospital.
Vargas said that one victim was transferred to a private hospital, while the other is still at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here.
Both are already stable, she added.
