Two workers at a gamefowl farm were found dead in the early afternoon of July 9 in Banga, Aklan.
The bodies of alias Stephen, 44, of Barangay Dingle, Banga, and alias Hershey, 46, of Barangay Badiangan, Banga, were discovered inside the ARP Gamefowl Farm in Barangay Lapnag.
Capt. Dandy Gonzalodo, Banga police chief, said the incident was reported to authorities at 1:19 p.m. Wednesday.
However, some residents reported hearing a muffled sound between 8 and 8:30 a.m. but did not suspect it was gunfire.
When police responded to the scene, they found the victims’ bodies lying about 150 meters apart.
One of the victims had two gunshot wounds to the head, while the other had a single gunshot wound, also to the head.
Police called in the farm owner, identified as Andres Protacio, for questioning.
Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) processed the crime scene but found no empty shells or fired cartridges.
Gonzalodo said this suggests the assailant may have used a .38-caliber revolver.
Police investigators are continuing to gather evidence to identify the suspect and determine the motive behind the killings.
