BACOLOD City – An outing with friends on Christmas Day ended in tragedy when two of them drowned in a beach resort at Barangay Campuyu, Manjuyod, Negros Oriental on Dec 25, 2020.
The victims were identified by police as Junmar Dagle and Samjun Lara, both 20 yrs old and residents of Bais City.
Based on the report from Manjuyod Municipal Police Station, the two victims went swimming with some of their friends when they were swept by big waves.
Their companions tried to rescue them but they failed.
Authorities reported that Dagle’s body was found early morning the following day while Lara’s body was found later in the afternoon.
The remains of the victims were already turned over to their families, according to the police.
