ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two farmers were hurt after a quarrel over gambling led to a hacking episode.
Police identified the victims as Roland Ondillo, 32, and Jason Cervas, 23, both of Barangay Batabat Maayon.
Investigation by Maayon police indicated that the incident happened when the unidentified suspect argued with the two victims over gambling in a funeral wake.
The suspect left after some bystanders quelled the quarrel, but the two victims followed him.
Armed with a bolo, the suspect hacked the duo in different parts of their bodies.
The suspect fled while Ondillo was brought to Bailan District Hospital in Barangay Bailan Pontevedra, Capiz and Cervas was taken to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital here.
The police have launched a manhunt operation against the suspect.
