Two face illegal drug peddling raps

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two persons are facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) following their arrest in separate drug buy-bust operations Friday afternoon last week.
First to be arrested was 45-year-old truck driver Edwin Boniales of Brgy. Hipona, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Boniales was collared in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) at Barangay Cabugcabug, President Roxas, Capiz.
Recovered from the suspect were four sachets of suspected shabu with estimated weight of 4 grams and market value of P27,200; a motorcycle and a cellphone. Also recovered was the P21,000 marked money which included P20,900 in boodle or fake money.
Boniales is presently detained at the Pres. Roxas Municipal Police Station.
Meanwhile, the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Roxas City PNP conducted a buy-bust operation at around 12 a.m. of Oct 23 on Pavia Street, Barangay IX here that led to the arrest of Joselito Manican, 28, of Barangay V here.
The operatives recovered from Manican five sachets of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, and a cellphone.
He is presently detained at the Roxas City police station for proper disposition.
