Two face charges for meter tampering
Two persons were charged for allegedly tampering a meter of MORE Electric and Power Corporation. Nazareno Pagayon, 54 and a barangay tanod; and Jason Mark Gualin, 26, both residents of Brgy. Yulo Drive, Arevalo, Iloilo City were caught by roving security personnel of MORE Power around 5:38 pm Wednesday.

Two persons were charged for allegedly tampering a meter of MORE Electric and Power Corporation.
Nazareno Pagayon, 54 and a barangay tanod; and Jason Mark Gualin, 26, both residents of Brgy. Yulo Drive, Arevalo, Iloilo City were caught by roving security personnel of MORE Power around 5:38 pm Wednesday.
Recovered from Pagayon was an electric meter with serial number 87140.
The duo allegedly admitted to detaching the meter on orders of the designated consumer. They were told to transfer the meter to another area.
MORE Power said it sued the two for violating the Anti-Pilferage of Electricity Act and Theft of Electric Transmission Lines/Materials Act of 1994. They underwent inquest proceeding at the Iloilo Hall of Justice on Thursday.
MORE Power has deployed security personnel to bust persons who might steal electricity and attempt to sabotage power lines which could lead to unscheduled power supply interruptions.
