ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Two men who were under the influence of liquor stabbed each other Saturday evening, May 2, in Barangay Malapad Cogon, Sigma, Capiz.
Police identified them only as Leony, 46, a laborer and resident of the village, and Etok, of legal age and a resident of Barangay Parian, Sigma.
The Sigma Municipal Police Station said the two were drinking at the house of a man identified only as Noel when Leony asked Etok to go home because he was already drunk.
As Etok was about to leave, he allegedly challenged Leony and approached him.
Police said Etok then took a knife and stabbed Leony, hitting him in the left side of the stomach and right hand.
Despite his injuries, Leony managed to grab the knife and stab Etok in the right side of the stomach.
Bystanders brought the two men to separate hospitals for treatment.
Police said a misunderstanding may have triggered the incident.
Investigation is ongoing.
