BACOLOD City – A female store owner was allegedly stabbed to death by two persons at Hacienda Vista 1, Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Killed was Evelyn Tamayo, 50, of the said village.
Police Lieutenant Ray Cordero, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said that the two suspects identified as Jason Abella, 21, of the said village, and Robert Calito, 21, of Barangay Bata here went to the victim’s store to buy whisky but the latter told them there’s no liquor anymore.
The two suspects got angry and allegedly attacked the victim with a bladed weapon, hitting her on the neck and back, Cordero said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where she was declared dead.
Cordero said that a misunderstanding over liquor allegedly triggered the incident.
The suspects fled but they were later arrested at their respective villages. They are now in police custody.
