BACOLOD City – Two persons drowned in separate areas in Negros Occidental last Friday.
In Cadiz City, a Grade 7 student aged 12 was found floating in a river at Barangay Caduha-an.
The victim, whose name was withheld, went swimming when he drowned based on the statement of some witnesses, police records showed.
He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
In Escalante City, a decomposing body of Paquito Onot Jr., 39, of Barangay Alimango was also found in a fishpond at Barangay Langub.
Police records showed that the victim tried to cross the river when he was attacked by epilepsy.
His body was retrieved by some rescuers and residents in the area.
