Two drown in Iloilo City

A 22-year-old man and a 9-year-old boy drowned in two separate incidents in Iloilo City.
The body of Chenard Borromeo, a resident of Lapuz Norte, Lapuz, Iloilo City, was found around 12 p.m. on Oct 18, 2022.
Members of the Philippine Coast Guard, together with the Phoenix Rescue Team, fished out Borromeo’s body from a fishpond at Loboc Proper, Lapuz.
Borromeo was taken to West Visayas State University Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Reports said that the victim was suffering from epilepsy.
Meanwhile, a search and rescue operation is still being conducted for a boy who drowned in Salog River at Barangay Cubay, Jaro district.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. on Oct 17 while the victim was playing with other children.
The victim was allegedly piggyback riding on another boy when someone pushed the latter.
The two lost their balance until Ric was submerged in water.
His playmates just saw him wagging his arms.
Search and rescue operation was immediately done but responders failed to locate the boy.
Some residents claimed to have seen a body being swept going to the area of Puerto Real Subdivision in Barangay Tabuc Suba, La Paz.
