Police Captain Alladen Talaban, chief of the Cuartero Municipal Police Station, said the charges will be filed against Clyde Ortencio, a singer and vlogger from Iloilo City, and a 46-year-old driver identified as “Ben” of Barangay Mongpong, Roxas City.
The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 24, in Barangay Bitoon Ilaya, Cuartero.
The victims, identified only as “Ivy” and her infant “Chalea,” were declared dead on the spot due to severe injuries.
According to police investigations, the victims were traveling home from a hospital on a tricycle driven by Ivy’s husband, Leomar, 22, when the incident happened.
An SUV, allegedly driven by Clyde, reportedly struck the tricycle from behind along the national highway, throwing Ivy and her infant onto the concrete pavement.
They were then hit by an oncoming van driven by Ben.
Leomar suffered minor injuries, while both drivers were detained by Cuartero police for further investigation.
