BACOLOD City – Two persons were dead while another was injured after a motorcycle collided with a tricycle at Barangay Mambugsay, Cauayan, Negros Occidental Monday.
Police Major Lowell Garinganao, town police chief, identified the fatalities as Ringor Cahilig, 23, of Barangay To-oy, Himamaylan City; and passenger of a tricycle – Lani Hisona, 53, of Barangay Guijulngan.
Wounded was tricycle driver Lino Cantere, 51, of Barangay Mambugsay.
Garinganao said an alleged speeding motorcycle driven by Cahilig reportedly overlapped the opposite lane which caused the collision.
“He (Cahilig) was supposed to go home when it happened but since he was drunk, he took the wrong direction,” the town police chief added.
Garinganao said Cahilig and Hisona sustained serious injuries and were declared dead at a hospital.
