BACOLOD CITY – Two construction workers died while three others were wounded in a motorcycle collision at Crossing Ba-o, Barangay Camba-og, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, last Saturday.
Killed in the accident were Julius Cañete, 21, and Robert Namo, 20, both residents of Hinigaran town.
Police Staff Sergeant Vedienold Peñalber, traffic investigator of Hinigaran Municipal Police Station, said the two fatalities were allegedly speeding on their way back to their workplace around 7:32 p.m. when they hit another motorcycle, which was making a left turn on their way home.
Peñalber said the two construction workers passed away in a hospital a few hours later.
Two of the three wounded passengers suffered minor injuries, while their companion is scheduled for surgery in a hospital, he added.
None of the five were wearing helmets, according to Peñalber.
