Two Charged for Taking Ballot Photos in Capiz
ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A barangay tanod and a security guard were charged for taking photos of their ballots after casting their votes in Barangay Sinondojan, Mambusao, during the May 12 elections. The suspects, identified as “Rafael,” 34, and “Hernanie,” 57, were caught using their mobile phones inside the voting precinct.

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A barangay tanod and a security guard were charged for taking photos of their ballots after casting their votes in Barangay Sinondojan, Mambusao, during the May 12 elections.
The suspects, identified as “Rafael,” 34, and “Hernanie,” 57, were caught using their mobile phones inside the voting precinct.
A poll watcher saw Rafael take a photo of his ballot at 8:30 a.m., followed by Hernanie at 9:20 a.m.
The incidents were reported to Board of Election Inspectors chair Irma Vista Laging, who immediately called Corporals Edzel Bugo and Jestel Dan Deocampo to arrest the suspects.
Both were charged with violating Section 36(f) of COMELEC Resolution No. 11076 and Batas Pambansa Blg. 881, which prohibit image-capturing devices inside voting precincts.
The suspects are now in the custody of the Mambusao Police Station.
