PILAR, Capiz – Two persons who were arrested for alleged illegal cockfighting and illegal possession of firearms were criminally charged on Tuesday.
Police filed an inquest case against Enrique Denosta, 49, of Barangay Dulangan, Pilar; and Danilo Dalida, 53, of Barangay Botongon, Estancia, Iloilo before the Capiz Provincial Prosecutors Office.
The duo was arrested by the Pilar police and the Capiz Provincial Mobile Forces Monday morning at Sitio Balogo Brgy. Dulangan Pilar.
Recovered from the suspects were four heads of live fighting cocks, P4,630 bet money, five pieces of gaff (bulang), two baskets made of buri (bayong), and two cartoon boxes.
Police also recovered from Denosta a .45-caliber pistol and magazine with seven live ammunitions, and two extra magazines with six live ammunitions each.
The seized items were inventoried by the operating team in the presence of Barangay Kagawad Remia B. Dumagpi of Dulangan, Pilar.
