ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two persons wanted for carnapping were arrested Saturday, June 3, in separate operations here.
The Roxas City police first served a warrant of arrest against Jomarie Altamia, 36, and resident of Brgy. 7 here.
Altamia was charged for alleged violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016.
He was arrested at Pueblo De Panay in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Lorencito B. Diaz of the Regional Trial Court Branch 17 in Roxas City on May 30, 2023.
The court recommended a P200,000 bail for his temporary liberty.
Meanwhile, another warrant of arrest was also served to a 37-year-old fish vendor also for violation of RA 10883.
Arvin “Nonoy” Ong of Barangay Lanot received the warrant while inside the detention cell of the Roxas City police in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City.
The same P200,000 bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
Ong was in jail since May 30 for a qualified theft case.
