BACOLOD City – Police already have persons of interest behind the mauling and shooting incidents that wounded two brothers in a KTV bar in Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, Negros Occidental early Wednesday.
The victims were identified as Erwin Maguad, 22, and his 17-year-old brother, both residents of Barangay Igalau-an.
Police Captain Marc Joel Reclamado, Murcia town police chief, said that the two groups figured in an altercation while having a drinking session.
A commotion then followed leading to an alleged mauling, and later shooting incident.
“May gamay lang na commotion, lalisanay sa ilimnan, then nagpalupok ang isa ka tawo na kontra nila (victims),” Reclamado said.
Reclamado said that one of the four unidentified persons fired a gunshot, hitting the minor in the leg, while the other suspects mauled his older brother.
The suspects then fled on a motorcycle. No fired bullet was recovered from the crime scene.
Reclamado said the minor was referred to a hospital in Silay City and will be subjected to surgery, while his older brother was already discharged.
