ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two people were arrested for alleged illegal cockfighting in Barangay Milibili, Roxas City, on April 24, 2026.
Operatives of the Capiz Provincial Intelligence Unit, together with the Roxas City Police Station, conducted the anti-illegal gambling operation at about 10:58 a.m.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Police Col. Albert D. Tapulao, Capiz police provincial director.
Police identified the arrested individuals only as alias “Toto” and alias “Nonoy,” both adults and residents of the village.
They were arrested for alleged violation of Presidential Decree No. 449, as amended by Presidential Decree No. 1602.
Police confiscated PHP 350 in bills, two dead red fighting cocks, one of which had an attached gaff, and two live red fighting cocks.
The arrested individuals and the confiscated items were brought to the Roxas City Component Police Station for proper documentation and disposition.
The Capiz Police Provincial Office said it continues to intensify its campaign against illegal gambling and urged the public to report unlawful activities to the nearest police station.
