KALIBO, Aklan – Two municipalities in Aklan remain free from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), according to the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
The towns of Madalag and Buruanga have not recorded any COVID-19 case since the pandemic started in March until October 30, 2020.
Meanwhile, the capital town of Kalibo still recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 78, followed by Numancia with 15, Malinao with 11, Banga with 10, and Balete with nine.
The towns of Makato and Lezo have four cases each, while Ibajay, New Washington, and Libacao have three cases each.
Altavas town as well as Batan, Nabas and Malay have two COVID-19 cases each, while Tangalan has one case.
The other four confirmed cases registered in Aklan came from other provinces and were managed by province.
PHO-Aklan noted that the recovery rate of the province is at 93 percent or equivalent to 136 patients fully recovered.
Out of the 153 confirmed COVID-19 cases of the province as of October 30, only 10 are considered active cases and under facility quarantine and mostly are asymptomatic.
On the other hand, seven casualties were recorded in the province, particularly from the towns of Kalibo and Numancia. (PIA)
