TUP-V graduate tops 2024 Master Plumber Exam

BACOLOD CITY – An alumnus of the Technological University of the Philippines Visayas (TUP-V) based in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, topped the July 2024 Master Plumbers Licensure Examination (MPLE).
Jobrylle John Tarrazona Simbahon, a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from TUP-V last year, garnered an 89 percent rating in the exam, according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) results released on Wednesday night.
Simbahon completed his secondary education at Sagay National High School, the Department of Education (DepEd) Sagay Schools Division stated in a Facebook post.
Talisay Mayor Neil Lizares lauded Simbahon’s accomplishment on behalf of the city government.
Meanwhile, TUP-V also ranked third among the Top Performing Schools in the July 2024 MPLE, with 16 out of their 18 examinees passing the exam, achieving an 88.89 percent score.
According to the PRC, 2,936 out of 6,191 examinees passed the exam conducted by the Board for Master Plumbers early this month in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Rosales, Tacloban, and Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
The results were released within three working days after the last day of the examination, the PRC reported.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be done online starting on September 9, 2024, while the date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees will be announced soon, the PRC added.
