Tuaño appointed PRO-6 regional director

ILOILO CITY — After serving in an acting capacity for more than two months, Police Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño has been officially designated regional director of the Police Regional Office 6.
Tuaño’s designation was contained in General Orders No. NHQ-GO-DES-2026-4472 dated Aug. 4, 2026, according to PRO-6.
The order was signed by authority of Philippine National Police chief Gen. Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.
Tuaño assumed command of PRO-6 in an acting capacity on May 22, 2026.
PRO-6 said it has continued to pursue intelligence-driven law enforcement operations, strengthen internal discipline, improve emergency response capabilities, and deepen partnerships with communities across Western Visayas under Tuaño’s leadership.
The regional police office also reported a reduction in eight focus crimes and intensified operations against illegal drugs.
PRO-6 sustained its campaigns against wanted persons and loose firearms while strengthening environmental law enforcement.
The regional police office also continued implementing the Unified 911 emergency response program.
Tuaño thanked the PNP leadership and the National Police Commission “for the trust and confidence bestowed upon him.”
He particularly thanked Interior and Local Government Secretary and Napolcom Chairperson Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, Napolcom Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Rafael Vicente R. Calinisan, and Nartatez for allowing him to serve the people of Western Visayas.
“I also thank every member of PRO6 for their unwavering dedication and commitment to duty. This designation carries an even greater responsibility to serve, and it inspires us to work even harder. Together, we will continue providing responsive, professional, and people-centered police service for a Safer Western Visayas,” he added.
Tuaño reaffirmed that PRO-6 would continue strengthening its law enforcement efforts and partnerships with communities and other stakeholders.
He also pledged to further improve the delivery of police services across Western Visayas.
Nartatez was formally appointed PNP chief in January 2026, while Calinisan serves as Napolcom vice chairperson and executive officer.
