ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Six families were evacuated in President Roxas, Capiz due to flash flood brought by tropical storm “Dante” on Wednesday.
The six families composed of 23 individuals were residents of Barangay Ibaca, President Roxas.
Some of the evacuees returned home after the flood subsided.
Meanwhile, flashfloods also hit 11 towns in Capiz and Roxas City.
The affected towns were Pres. Roxas, Pilar, Dumarao, Dumalag, Sapian, Sigma, Ivisan, Cuartero, Mambusao, Panitan, and Pontevedra.
Some of the roads were still passable to light and heavy vehicles.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) was on alert for any eventuality.
No casualties or injuries were reported as of this writing.
PDRRMO head Judy Grace Pelaez said they conducted pre disaster risk assessment and advised the different Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (MDRRMO) to submit reports as to the extent of damages in their respective areas of responsibilities.
