ROXAS CITY, Capiz The driver of an elf truck where an 18-year-old girl fell and died is now detained at the lock up cell of Pres. Roxas police station.
Jimmy Ballon, 45, of Brgy. Tabun-acan Pres. Roxas, Capiz voluntarily surrendered to the police after his passenger, Monalyn Jimenez, also of Brgy. Tubun-acan, accidentally fell from the truck.
Jimenez succumbed to fatal injuries on her head and other parts of her body after she fell to the concrete road.
The victim was declared dead at the Bailan District Hospital.
According to Police Captain Armando Clavaton, Pres. Roxas police chief, the driver is still in police custody despite the lapse of reglementary detention period for security reasons.
He said they are waiting the family of the girl to report the incident and file appropriate charges.
