BACOLOD City – A man died from accidental electrocution at Hacienda Regalado, Barangay Bagtic, Silay City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Police identified the victim as Solmer Rivera, 51, of Barangay 13, Victorias City.
Based on initial investigation, a backhoe was parked beside Rivera’s driven truck.
However, the victim allegedly suddenly drove the backhoe and lifted its boom, which accidentally touched the main line of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco), police said.
As a result, the wire was cut off and fell on the truck.
Rivera immediately went to the truck to remove the live wire, but the victim was already electrocuted.
He was taken to a hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
