BACOLOD City – A man died after he was ran over by a 10-wheeler truck while his younger brother was wounded in Barangay Dancalan, Ilog, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Killed in the accident was Richard Erojo, 25, of Barangay Guiljungan, Cauayan town.
Richard’s brother Rodel, 24, of Barangay Guiljungan, was wounded.
Captain Thurslie Castillo, Ilog town police chief, said the brothers were riding a motorcycle driven by Rodel when they sideswiped a truck they were trying to overtake on a curved part of the road.
Richard suffered severe injuries when he was ran over by the truck driven by 29-year-old Jay-ar Alicaway of Barangay Guiljungan.
The brothers were taken to a hospital but Richard was declared dead on arrival.
Castillo said the truck driver was already released from jail, following a settlement between two parties.
