With the PBA Governor’s Cup Playoffs still ongoing, a big name already emerged as the no. 1 available player in the free agency market.
According to the Blackwater Bossing management, Troy Rosario, a former PBA All-Star who played his last two years with the franchise, will be seeking free agency entering the new conference of the PBA.
Multiple sources confirmed that Blackwater countered an offer to Rosario in hopes of keeping him for another attempt at a playoff berth but the versatile power forward wanted to explore more options.
Rumors spread that Rosario is the main target of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, especially now that they have a banged-up frontcourt rotation with Isaac Go, Jeremiah Gray, and Jamie Malonzo still out with respective injuries.
The TNT Tropang Giga is also seeking a reunion with their former star, as Rosario suited up for the MVP-backed franchise in his first six years in the PBA.
Joining the picture in the ‘Operation Snatch Rosario’ is the San Miguel Beermen, who aim to continue fortifying their already-talented roster that feature June Mar Fajardo, Moala Tautuaa, Vic Manuel, and Rodney Brondial in the frontcourt.
Rosario had a stellar season with the Bossing after getting eliminated from playoff contention and averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists.
As of now, Rosario is yet to comment if he really rejected Blackwater’s two-year contract offer, but franchise owner Dioceldo Sy said that he is always welcome to return if no final deals will be made with other teams.
