Police Staff Sergeant Eduard Peter Harion, investigator-on-case of lvisan Municipal Police Station, filed the robbery complaint against Samuel Unarce Abisan, 27; Ronald Ubalubao Abisan, 22; and a 16-year-old boy, all residents of Brgy. Mianay lvisan, Capiz.
The inquest complaint was filed before the Capiz Provincial Prosecutors’ Office on Sept. 8 under deputy provincial prosecutor Ma. Conchita Caldetera-Berjamin.
The incident took place around 3 a.m. of Sept. 7, 2022 when the lvisan police officers PMSg. Micheal dela Rama and PSSg. Gerundio Leysa chanced the suspects unloading three sacks of unpacked dressed chickens on a motorcycle without a plate number.
The police officers suspected that the dressed chickens were maybe stolen from VECS Poultry Processing Plant located in the area.
The police then referred the items to the plant’s security guard Norman Orogo who positively identified and confirmed that the chickens came from their plant because of the bands found on the legs.
The three were then arrested and taken to the police station.
Police investigation indicated that the suspects entered the processing plant through the window of the ice room.
Daniel Ortega, 58, processing plant branch manager and resident of said place, told Daily Guardian that he was at his house sleeping when he was informed by Ramel Elueterio that three persons were caught by the police for stealing dressed chicken from the processing plant.
Ortega later confirmed that the stolen dressed chickens worth P22,500 came from VECS poultry processing plant.
Ortega said the owner entrusted the plant to him when the latter went abroad.
The Abisans are detained at lvisan police station while the minor is in the custody of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office.
