ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A tricycle driver was seriously injured after he was shot Monday morning at the corner of Magallanes and Luna Novicio streets here.
Benjie Diestro, 33, of Barangay Consencia Panit-an, Capiz was wounded in his leg and hand. He was immediately brought to Capiz Emmanuel Hospital.
Police conducted a hot pursuit operation and arrested suspect Jun Caragos of Sitio Dulunan Brgy. Mongpong here.
Police brought Caragos to the hospital where Diestro identified him as his attacker.
According to the victim’s wife Aileen Diestro, they owe the suspect P5,000, which remains unpaid since 2017 due to financial woes.
