ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A tricycle driver was arrested in a gun raid Friday morning, June 9, at Sitio Pinaypayan in Barangay Lanot here.
Lieutenant Colonel Francisco Paguia, Roxas City police chief, identified the suspect as Ronnie Cervales, 59.
Joint forces of the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team and the intelligence group of the Roxas City Component Police Station led the operation.
The search warrant was issued by Executive Judge Esperanza Isabel E. Poco Deslate of the Regional Trial Court Branch 19 here on June 8, 2023.
Recovered from Cervales’ possession were a caliber .38 revolver (Smith and Wesson), 19 live ammunitions, another .38-caliber firearm, a wooden pistol grip, six live ammunitions, 6 empty ammunition cartridges, and four holsters.
Paguia said the search was made following a complaint from a concerned individual.
Cervales is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
