ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 40-year-old tricycle driver was arrested in an entrapment operation Wednesday afternoon for allegedly selling an illegal gun and drugs in Arnaldo Boulevard here.
Members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Capiz nabbed Michael Denosta of Brgy. VIII here.
Recovered from Denosta was a .45-caliber pistol with magazine without ammunition and the marked money. Three sachets of suspected illegal drugs were later seized from his pocket.
Also recovered from the suspect was an airsoft pistol, a cellphone, coin purse, and P21,166 personal money.
Denosta said that he was asked by somebody to deliver the items to a certain individual.
Police Major Chris Arthemius Devaras, CIDG-Capiz Officer-in-charge, said that it took one week of monitoring and surveillance before the operation was conducted.
Denosta is presently detained at CIDG-Capiz. Charges for violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against him.
