PRESIDENT ROXAS, Capiz — A tricycle driver was arrested Sunday afternoon, Dec. 21, after police recovered an unlicensed firearm and illegal drugs from his possession in Barangay Pondol, President Roxas, Capiz.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Reynaldo,” is a 44-year-old resident of the barangay and works as a tricycle driver.
According to the President Roxas police, they received a tip from a concerned citizen at around 4:55 p.m. about a tricycle driver carrying a firearm.
Responding officers, led by Patrolman Errol Delfin and Staff Sgt. Dexter Valenzuela, found the suspect with a .22-caliber revolver—lacking a serial number and loaded with two live rounds—visibly tucked in his waistband.
The suspect failed to produce documents to support lawful ownership of the firearm.
During a subsequent search, officers also recovered two sachets of suspected illegal drugs weighing a total of 5 grams, with an estimated street value of PHP 34,000.
