BACOLOD City – A tricycle driver was killed by two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects in front of a sari-sari store along Circumferential Road, Barangay Pahanocoy here yesterday.
Police identified the victim as Noel Peraren, 54, of the said village. Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, the Public Information Officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the suspects tailed Peraren who was driving his tricycle.
When the victim stopped in front of a store, the perpetrators shot him and fled, Pico said.
The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds on different parts of his body. Pico said the victim’s family told the police that he had no threats prior to the killing.
Pico said Peraren was previously arrested for illegal possession of firearms in 2013 but was released on bail.
Pico also said that the victim allegedly engaged in gun-running and illegal drugs here. He said they have no lead on the identities of the perpetrators, whose faces were covered with crash helmets.
