Tricycle driver nabbed in drug sting

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A tricycle driver was arrested in a police anti-illegal drugs operation afternoon of March 2, 2020 at Purok 1 Brgy. Dayao here.

The Station Drug Enforcement Team of the Roxas City Police Station collared Mariel Romero, 24, at Barangay Dayao here.

According to Police Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, Roxas City PNP spokesman, Romero was on the watch lists of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence (DI) and Capiz Police Provincial Office.

Recovered from the suspect were five sachets of suspected shabu valued at P5,000, a cellphone, wallet, and the P1,000 marked money.

Romero was charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
