BACOLOD CITY – A 39-year-old tricycle driver’s death is currently under investigation, with grudges and robbery among the suspected motives.
The incident occurred in Barangay Bagroy, Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, last Wednesday.
The victim, from Isabela town, remains unnamed as the police have withheld further personal details.
The body was found in a sugarcane field by a passing biker, alerted by the victim’s ringing phone at approximately 8 a.m., according to Police Major Randy Babor, the town’s police chief.
The victim had sustained multiple stab wounds.
Babor noted that the victim was reportedly last seen alive during a drinking session in Isabela town.
With his wallet and tricycle missing, the authorities are considering robbery as a possible motive for the murder.
“We have a lead in the investigation, and persons of interest,” Babor disclosed, although details remain sparse as the investigation continues.
