Tricycle driver killed in road mishap

BACOLOD City – A tricycle driver died after he figured in an accident with a minivan at Purok Mahidaiton Central Lopez, Barangay Paraiso, Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Friday.

Killed in the accident according to the police was Gerard Sumpay, 20, of Barangay Paraiso.

Investigation showed that Sumpay was on his way home when he reportedly collided into a mini van driven by Neljohn Ometer, 48, of Barangay Fabrica.

Sumpay sustained serious injuries and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital, while Ometer was also brought to the hospital after he suffered hypertension.

Police said that both parties are set to meet for a settlement.
