BACOLOD City – A tricycle driver died while four others, including two children, were wounded after they figured in a road collision at Purok Katilingban, Barangay Sagua Banua, Valladolid, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
The fatality was identified as Sunday Villar of Pulupandan town.
Wounded were Joven Estoya, 45, of Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid town; and his passengers – Joycel Morante, 30, and two boys aged 1 and 5, all residents of Barangay Sagua Banua.
Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., Valladolid town police chief, said that Villar allegedly swerved his driven tricycle to the opposite lane, causing a collision with Estoya’s driven tricycle.
All five of them were taken to a hospital, but Villar was declared dead on arrival.
The wounded individuals were already stable, according to the police.
Benoman said there’s no filing of charges since Villar, who was allegedly at fault in the incident based on the investigation, died.
