The deceased was identified as 39-year-old Joel Co from Barangay Cabug, according to police reports.
Police Captain Dax Santillan, head of Police Station 6, reported that the tricycle was headed towards the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC), while the pickup truck was travelling towards Barangay Mansilingan.

Co was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while the occupants of the pickup truck did not sustain any injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was initially taken into police custody but was released the following day after reaching a settlement with the victim’s family, Santillan confirmed.
