BACOLOD CITY — A 56-year-old tricycle driver was found shot in the head in a Barangay Cabug subdivision last Thursday.
Teresito Gepelga of the same village was discovered with a gunshot wound. Local residents reported hearing a gunshot in the afternoon but initially dismissed it until they found Gepelga injured outside later, according to Police Captain Michael Tuburan, head of Police Station 9.
Gepelga was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH), where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have yet to find witnesses, and they are searching for CCTV footage to assist in the investigation. Tuburan disclosed that Gepelga had recently moved to Barangay Cabug two months prior from Barangay 35.
The family mentioned an altercation involving Gepelga and another tricycle driver three weeks ago, but details were limited. Police are investigating to determine the motive.
