BACOLOD City – Police have yet to identify the perpetrators behind the burning of a tractor at Hacienda Corilla, Sitio Langoni, Barangay Inayawan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Police Major Gary Alan Resuma, town police chief, said that based on the information they gathered, six unidentified persons came out of the sugarcane field carrying a container of gasoline.
The perpetrators then poured gasoline on the tractor and set it on fire.
No workers were in the area during the incident, according to Resuma.
The tractor, which was destroyed, was owned by two landowners from here.
Police could not yet tell if the incident might be linked to insurgency, although the area was considered rebel-infested.
Authorities have yet to determine the cost of the damage.
