Town village chief yields handguns, ammos

ROXAS CITY Capix – Seven firearms and assorted live ammunitions were voluntarily surrendered to the police by a barangay captain over the weekend in Pres. Roxas, Capiz.
Punong barangay Ferdinand Bacanto of Culilang, Pres. Roxas and concurrent Liga ng mga Barangay President-Pres. Roxas Chapter, surrendered the following guns:
- two homemade shotgun with magazine;
- a patented shotgun with a magazine;
- a Colt .45-caliber pistol;
- a homemade grease gun; and
- a caliber .38 revolver.
According to Police Captain Armando Clavaton, chief of President Roxas PNP, Bacanto surrendered the gun after reminding the village official that his gun licenses were already expired.
The firearms are in the custody of Pres. Roxas police and will be turned over to the Capiz Police Provincial Office.
